Southwold the Denes beach is a sand and shingle beach. It is backed by sand dunes and set in a quiet rural area with marshes nearby. The River Blyth estuary is to the south and the town of Southwold a kilometre to the north. The beach features a long stretch of golden sand, with dunes and colorful beach huts lining the shore. Visitors can engage in activities such as swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and leisurely walks along the coastline. Water sports activities like surfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking are also available. The beach is well-maintained and clean, with toilets located at both ends. Paid parking is available on Ferry Road.
