St. Margaret's Bay bathing water is a remote beach situated near Dover at the eastern foothills of the North Downs. It is enclosed in a small bay lined by steep white chalk cliffs. The beach is predominantly shingle, with sand exposed at low water. It is approximately 500 metres wide and framed by rocky ledges on either side. The beach is backed by a promenade. St Margaret's Bay in England has a rich history as a departure and arrival point for cross-Channel swimmers. Despite the development of nearby housing, the beach remains accessible by car and can be reached by walking along cliff paths from Walmer or Dover. In the 1930s, it was a popular spot for celebrities. The beach offers a peaceful and idyllic setting where visitors can enjoy a bacon bap and a coffee from the snack hut.
