Sandwich Bay is a rural beach on the East coast of Kent about 5 km south of Ramsgate. The steep shingle beach is towards the south of a long sandy bay adjoining the golf course. Towards low water there are large sand flats. At low tide, visitors can walk to the caves that lead to the Western Undercliff, and there are opportunities for birdwatching and fishing. There is an old hoverport nearby that can be explored, and the bay offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. The beach is exposed to breezy and chilly weather at times. There are no shops nearby, and overnight parking is not allowed for campervans or motorhomes. The beach has a toll charge of £7. Although the beach is mainly pebbly, some sandy areas can be found.
