Joss Bay, Broadstairs

Joss Bay is a gently sloping sandy beach about 500 metres long. The beach, backed by chalk cliffs, is popular with surfers. Joss Bay is a lovely clean beach that is perfect for families with children, as they can be easily seen. The parking is reasonably priced and convenient. Visitors have the option to rent umbrellas and chairs, and there are bathrooms and a food store available for convenience. Lifeguards are also on duty. The beach offers plenty of space and sandy areas, with shade available for those who prefer it. Barbecues are permitted on the sides of the beach.

There are extensive underwater rock formations just offshore along the length of the beach which are exposed at low water. These formations are part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest and are great for rock pooling. A promenade sits above the beach with small cliffs behind.
