The bathing water is a gently shelving beach in Hampshire on the South coast. The beach faces south-west across the Solent and is sheltered from the wind by the Isle of Wight. The beach is predominantly shingle with some sand exposed at low tide. A promenade sits above the western side of the beach and behind is a large grassed area with the village of Alverstoke beyond. Stokes Bay is a peaceful beach located in a waterfront area. It is known for its pebbly beach, which inspired the names of the local café and restaurant. The beach offers plenty of parking space and public toilets, as well as a splash park for children and a large green area. Visitors can enjoy fantastic views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight from the beach. The waterfront area allows for leisurely strolls along the shoreline, where one can observe sea birds and various water vessels such as yachts, ships, and cruise liners. The beach provides seating options, and there is also a grassy space across the road where picnics can be enjoyed. The beach is wheelchair accessible with a flat pathway. It is a popular spot for activities such as windsurfing and kite flying.
