Hastings Pelham Beach is a resort beach within the district of Hastings in East Sussex. The beach is predominantly shingle, with shallow sand flats exposed at low water. Alexandra Park Stream drains into the sea via an outfall pipe across the beach, which also is exposed at low water. A promenade is above the beach with the urban backdrop of Hastings. It can get quite busy in the summer, making it difficult to find a relaxing spot. The beach has a few amenities, including arcades and chip shops, as well as a mini railway. The gravel surface can be challenging to walk on in some areas. It is advisable to bring chairs if planning to sit for a while. The beach has a steep pebble shoreline, but sand is visible during low tide. The waves can be vigorous and crash onto the shore. There is a conveniently located car park called Pelham Place, which is adjacent to the beach, but it is not free. Dogs are allowed on certain parts of the beach during specific times of the year.
