Camber Sands is situated at the mouth of the river Rother in Rye Bay, East Sussex. The bathing water is a wide expanse of fine sand with a shallow profile and a long tidal range. It is part of a large embayment and is truncated to the west by the training wall of the River Rother. The bathing water is backed by sand dunes and a golf course to the west and a large caravan park to the east. The area close to the mouth of the Rother has strong currents.

Winchelsea is a remote beach on the western edge of Rye Bay in East Sussex. The beach is predominantly shingle, with shallow sand flats exposed at low water. The bathing water quality at this beach generally achieves high standards.

Littlestone-on-Sea is a resort beach in the middle of a 20 kilometre (km) stretch of beach in Hythe Bay, Kent. Hythe Bay stretches from Folkestone down to the headland of Dungeness. The bathing water is a steeply shelving shingle bank with sand dunes at the southern edge. Wide shallow sand and mud flats are exposed at low tide, resulting in a long distance to the sea. Fine sediments suspended in the water column leave the water cloudy at times. To the south there is a life boat station and an outfall right next to it. The outfall of the New Romney Main Sewer is situated at the northern edge of the bathing water.
