Seaham Hall Beach is a gently sloping resort beach with the designated area measuring approximately 800 metres in length. The beach is mainly sand above the high water mark and a mixture of sand and rock in the inter tidal area. The designated area is in the centre of a two kilometres long bay and the main access to the beach is via stairs. The beach is backed with low cliffs with a promenade at its southern end. Until 2013, it was officially called Seaham beach but the name has been changed to reflect local custom. Seaham Hall beach is a popular and busy beach with rocky terrain and limited sea glass available. There is a free car park located at the top of the cliffs, with a set of stairs leading down to the beach. It is a pleasant location for a walk and a search for sea glass, with picturesque views of Tynemouth to the north and Seaham Harbour and the North Yorkshire moors to the south. The beach offers several car parks to choose from and provides access to Seaham Town and Ryhope via either a path or the beach. The beach itself consists of pretty pebbles and may yield beautiful sea glass if one is fortunate. It is considered a beautiful and occasionally sunny location.
