Seaham Beach is a gently sloping resort beach with the designated area measuring approximately 800 metres in length. The beach is mainly sand above the high water mark and a mixture of sand and rock in the inter tidal area. The designated area is at the southern end of a two kilometres long bay and it is backed by a promenade. Until 2013, it was officially called Seaham Hall Beach but the name has been changed to reflect local custom. Seaham Beach is a lovely place that offers beautiful scenery and a pleasant environment. The beach is well-maintained and has a convenient free car park. Access to the beach is through stone steps leading to a pebble beach. While it may not be the most comfortable place for sunbathing, visitors can collect pebbles and enjoy walking along the wall. One unique feature of this beach is the abundance of sea glass, which is not commonly found elsewhere. The beach also has rockpools and cliffs with small caves to explore, making it an enjoyable destination for families. Overall, Seaham Beach is a nice beach to visit, with its picturesque surroundings and cleanliness.
