Chapel Porth is on the north coast of Cornwall, approximately three kilometres from St Agnes. At high tide the beach is a small sand and shingle cove approximately 130 metres wide. At low tide a large stretch of sandy beach approximately one kilometre wide is exposed between Tubby's Head and the neighbouring beach at Porthtowan. The beach is backed by large moorland covered cliffs which are dotted with caves and several natural arches.

Lifeguards are present daily from May to September and the beach is dog-friendly year-round. Access to the beach is available through the National Trust parking area, which is located only 5 minutes' walk away and can be found using the postcode TR8 5PF. During high season, from May to September, visitors can take advantage of the convenient toilets and cafe facilities. The beach also offers disabled access. Additionally, a natural paddling area for children is created by a meandering stream that flows down from the gorgeous backdrop of dunes. For families, Holywell Bay is the perfect adventure spot. However, please note that there are no food or toilet facilities on the beach. But worry not, Cubert is just 1 mile away and offers various shops, a post office, and even leisure parks such as Holywell Bay leisure park.
Porth Joke Beach ⟼ 13.3 km away
Polly Joke Beach, situated in the western part of Newquay, is a hidden gem that lies within a charming and narrow cove that is flanked by Kelsey Head and Pentire Point West headlands. Unlike other crowded beaches in Cornwall, this serene and secluded beach offers a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. While there are no lifeguards present on this beach, it boasts of stunning vistas that make for excellent photography opportunities. Visitors should also be aware that dogs are not allowed on the beach all year round, and parking is not available; access is only possible via walking from nearby locations such as Holywell Bay or Crantock, or by hiking from West Pentire. Porth Joke Beach is a north west-facing stretch of beach that boasts of an array of rock pools and caves that are only visible during low tide. Positioned between the more crowded Holywell Bay and Crantock beaches, this secluded haven is only a short five-mile distance away from the bustling Newquay town.
